First Week In May!

Spring and Autumn are such intense moments in time for market gardeners. It’s a mad dash to get transplants and seeds into the ground, while also seeding out for the second and third rounds of upcoming planting.

🌱

The field rows are filling up quickly with veggies and irrigation lines, while at the same time the first round of the weeding has begun! The trick with being a chemical free market garden is you are constantly weeding to avoid any of them going to seed and creating a larger problem down the road. We throw on some good tunes and just get ‘er done!

🌿

Both of the greenhouses are full of first and second rounds of different seedings. Every year we strive to successfully grow new items and hopefully we will have many of those to offer you later this summer!

🐣

We also got 200 sweet baby chicks this week! These little guys will be our personal meat birds for our family and friends. We wanted to introduce them to you because they will be eating loads of our delicious veggies, herbs, micro greens, fermented items and much more. The relationship between birds and gardens can be a highly symbiotic and we aim to showcase this relationship much more this year.
