Commonly Asked Questions - Weeding Edition
How do we weed?
π±
We make it a regular occurrence, like laundry or the dishes. Everyone picks their favourite weapon like a hori hori, pitch fork or a hoe and we go to town.

How often do we weed?
π±
Always catch us weeding after a full bed harvest and before we plant in an empty bed. Typically each of us spends a morning or afternoon one day a week weeding on our own. All of us will drop other plans if we find any area that need our love and attention like the video area. It is one of our top priorities.

What are the benefits to having a weed free growing area?
π±
You can literally watch the plants respond to having less competition for nutrients, space, water and sunlight. It also looks amazing and we feel great after a long weeding sesh.
π±
How can you do that all by hand?
π±
A Chinese squat and being bent over are positions our crew are use to being in for long periods of time, daily. Each year we get stronger and leaner making all these jobs much easier. Weeding is a great form of excised for us, especially with the pitch fork. Key is to do it short shifts regularly verses long shifts but less often.

Is it worth it to do it this way?
π±
Absolutely, it is. Choosing to not spray horrible chemicals that leak into the entire ecosystem including ourselves is worth every sore back and legs we earn each year. The goal is to live as healthy and as long as possible. Clean food and exercise are major factors that will help us to achieve this goal.
