Seasonal Food - Beets - Reel

Our crew is in the midst of our summer beet harvest! All of our beets are coming out to get replaced with the next batch of transplants waiting to go in for our fall and winter storage. We had quite the amazing system going on today with the help of a volunteer. Dad and Peter would collect the beets, prep those empty beds by first weeding, then broad forking and finished by raking them out. While kk and I cut the tops off and put the beets into large IBC totes that are in our cold food storage. All of the beet greens we cut off went to our happy birds as a well deserved snack.
