Pickled Kohlrabi - Final 2024 Batch

We whipped up the last batch of pickled kohlrabi from our 2024 fall harvest. Bitter sweet moment right there! It’s hands down our favourite pickled item that we make. Great crunchy texture similar to apple or jimcha with the light flavouring of dilly cabbage, turnip or broccoli. It makes a perfect game day snack or it pairs fabulously with middle eastern and mediterranean dishes, on donairs, in wraps, added into buddha bowls and salads.

People who love pickled kohlrabi are pretty hardcore fans. We had a customer in Sylvan Lake this past summer that bought us out which was well over a flat of quarts. We have customers in Edmonton that always say, “it's better to be looking at it than looking for it.” If you have FOMO, try ordering a jar online for drop off next Thursday, visit us at markets every Saturday and at our upcoming specialty markets next week.

Photos are Lebanese Pizzas. Made by smearing a mixture of Lone Star Angus ground beef, dried heirloom tomato powder, paprika, s&p, dried hot peppers, minced sweet peppers, shallot, garlic and zataar seasoning from Sweet Mezza on naan bread. We baked and broiled them on high until golden brown. Layered it with our homemade tzatziki sauce, pickled kohlrabi, pea shoots, purple radish, sliced local tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, chopped spinach. We fold it in half and enjoy every bite.
