What is in Season at Thistle Hill Farms - Asparagus Edition

Respecting the dignity of a spectacular food means enjoying it at its best. Europeans celebrate the short season of abundant asparagus as a form of holiday. In the Netherlands the first cutting coincides with Father’s day, on which restaurants may feature all-asparagus menus and hand out neckties decorated with asparagus spears.

Our team just LOVES seasonal, fresh and spray free food. We are in the middle of our asparagus season and every year it is a complete and utter treat to have such a lovely veggie every single day. Nothing beats fully harvesting a 1/3 of an acre all by hand first thing in the morning.

For the next three weeks you will find asparagus bundles in every produce box and also available online or at markets. We are doing 1lb for $10 or 3lbs for $25.

No waste hack - take your trimmings or ends of your asparagus and freeze for when you make homemade broths or stocks!
